PESHAWAR: Alkhidmat Women Trust Peshawar Thursday launched a “Gaza Packing Drive” to prepare hygiene kits for women and children affected by the conflict in Gaza.

Hundreds of students and women from local educational institutions joined the effort, where 2,000 hygiene kits were packed as part of a nationwide campaign to prepare 12,000 kits. Each pack contained 14 essential items for mothers and children.

The activity was led by Nighat Seema Sarwar, President Alkhidmat Women Trust Peshawar, along with Shehzad Sadiq, Abida Burg, Iqra Owais, Faiza, and former provincial president Nasreen Murad, who supervised the packing process.

Addressing the participants, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Central Abdul Wasi and President Alkhidmat Foundation KP Khalid Waqas commended the resolve of Palestinian women and children.

Abdul Wasi said that for the past two years, the people of Gaza have stood firm against one of the most heavily armed forces in the world, sacrificing their lives for their land and principles. “They have written a history of courage and resistance that has few parallels,” he said.

Khalid Waqas appreciated the initiative of Alkhidmat Women Trust Pakistan for supporting Gaza’s women and children in their time of trial. “The people of Gaza have endured immense suffering, yet their faith and resolve remain unbroken,” he said.

He added that the Pakistani nation stands in solidarity with the Palestinian people and that Alkhidmat Foundation will continue to support the reconstruction of Gaza and relief for affected families.
