Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa&#39;s Regional Board of Management reviewed the organization&#39;s quarterly performance and ongoing welfare projects during a meeting chaired by President Khalid Waqas.

The meeting was attended by Provincial General Secretary Muhammad Shakir Siddiqui, Bano Qabil Pakistan CEO Shahid Iqbal, provincial vice presidents, secretaries, department directors, regional managers, district presidents and program managers.

Participants reviewed progress on Alkhidmat&#39;s humanitarian initiatives, including the Bano Qabil Program, health services, orphan care, clean water projects, Qurbani, education, hospitals, under-construction Aghosh Homes, mosques and other welfare projects. The board expressed satisfaction with the overall performance.

Shahid Iqbal briefed the forum on the growing reach of the Bano Qabil Program, highlighting its free IT skills training, online earning opportunities, employment pathways and future plans to further expand and modernize the initiative.

Addressing the meeting, Khalid Waqas paid tribute to Alkhidmat&#39;s donors, partner organizations and thousands of volunteers, saying the foundation remains committed to advancing education, healthcare, orphan care, disaster relief and other social welfare initiatives. He added that public trust and its volunteer network remain Alkhidmat&#39;s greatest strengths in delivering humanitarian services.

Alkhidmat Reviews Quarterly Performance, Expands Focus on Welfare Projects

Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has strengthened its disaster response capacity by equipping model response centers in Peshawar and Bannu with 54 modern rescue and emergency equipment items.

The equipment was handed over during a Disaster Response Equipment Handover Ceremony organized by Alkhidmat&rsquo;s Disaster Management Program at Aghosh Alkhidmat Peshawar. President Alkhidmat Foundation KP Khalid Waqas handed over the equipment to Peshawar District President Iftikhar Ahmad and Bannu District Vice President Azizullah Qureshi.

The supplied equipment includes portable generators, high-capacity water pumps, rescue stretchers, telescopic fiberglass ladders, tripod rescue systems, life jackets, rescue helmets, safety harnesses, life buoys, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, rescue ropes, emergency lights and other tools designed for flood response, fire incidents, building collapses and other emergencies.

Speaking on the occasion, Khalid Waqas said Alkhidmat has established trained rescue teams across the province and is continuously enhancing their capacity through modern equipment and professional training to ensure timely response and protection of human lives during disasters.

The ceremony was attended by Alkhidmat KP Vice President Jalal Shah Advocate and other provincial and district representatives.

Alkhidmat Equips Peshawar, Bannu Response Centers with 54 Modern Rescue Tools

Pakistan&rsquo;s youth bulge has often been framed as a challenge. Alkhidmat Foundation&rsquo;s Bano Qabil program is making the case that it can be a national asset.

Launched in Karachi in 2022, Bano Qabil has rapidly grown into what is widely regarded as Pakistan&rsquo;s largest free IT training program, reshaping access to digital skills and economic opportunity. What began as a skills initiative has developed into a nationwide movement linking education, employability, freelancing and entrepreneurship.

Bano Qabil is the dream and vision of Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman, which Alkhidmat Foundation turned into reality. Today, the initiative has established centers in 65 cities across Pakistan, transforming free IT education into a nationwide movement.

By 2026, the program has built a network connecting approximately 1.5 million students nationwide, with female participation reaching around 40 percent; a significant marker in a sector where women often remain underrepresented. Through free training in 28 specialized fields, including web development, artificial intelligence, cyber security, e-commerce and digital marketing, the program has positioned itself around market-driven, employment-oriented education.

Bano Qabil&rsquo;s impact is increasingly measured not simply in enrollments, but in outcomes.

Thousands of graduates have moved from training into freelancing, startups and formal employment, while others have used the skills to build independent digital income streams. Its &ldquo;learn and earn&rdquo; model has given the program practical relevance at a time when conventional degrees alone are often insufficient for job markets.

Its expansion has matched that ambition. Today, Bano Qabil operates in 65 cities across Pakistan. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 175 centers have been established with centers in Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda and Nowshera, while some of its most remarkable expansion has taken place in challenging and far-flung districts including North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Mohmand, Swat, Chitral, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu and Tank. Recently, the largest Bano Qabil entry test was held in Mardan, where more than 40,000 candidates registered and appeared. The overwhelming response reflects the growing trust of young people, who increasingly see Bano Qabil as a pathway to turning their dreams into reality.

The broader significance lies in how Bano Qabil is shifting the development conversation. Rather than treating technical education as a premium service available to a few, the initiative has made digital skills part of a mass-access model.

Its effects extend beyond employability. The program has contributed to digital inclusion by reaching students often excluded from expensive private training. For many participants from low-income and poor backgrounds, Bano Qabil has become a first point of entry into the digital economy.

It has also widened the conversation around women&rsquo;s economic participation. With roughly 40 percent female enrollment, the initiative has helped create pathways for women into remote work, freelancing and home-based income generation, particularly significant in communities where traditional labor participation barriers remain high.

Equally important is the shift toward entrepreneurship. Increasingly, the program is not framed solely around job-seeking, but around creating digital entrepreneurs and potential job-creators.

If Bano Qabil has become a national movement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has emerged as one of its strongest growth centers.

In a province long shaped by underemployment and limited economic opportunity, the program has expanded rapidly from 20 training centers in its initial phase to more than 175 campuses spread across all districts.

That growth is producing measurable outcomes. More than 100,000 students graduated from the program since its inception till 2025 and secured local and online employment opportunities, while tens of thousands have appeared in entry tests for subsequent phases.

For many young people in KP, freelancing and digital work are increasingly being seen not as side opportunities, but as serious economic alternatives.

Bano Qabil is no longer operating only as a social initiative, but as an increasingly recognized skills ecosystem.

Beyond technical skills, Bano Qabil has replaced disappointment with hope. By providing modern, market-oriented education, it is giving Pakistan&#39;s Gen Z a positive direction and helping steer young people away from unhealthy activities toward productive careers.

One of the program&rsquo;s notable strengths in KP has been its emphasis on inclusion.

In Malakand alone, over 10,000 female students participated in entry tests, reflecting growing demand among women for digital education. Similarly, in Mohmand district 300+ female students appeared in the Bano Qabil entry test.

At the same time, the initiative has expanded its social scope through plans for dedicated computer classes for the transgender community and street children along with programs designed for juveniles and prisoners in Peshawar, extending the idea of digital empowerment to groups often excluded from mainstream opportunity structures.

That makes Bano Qabil more than an IT program. It is becoming a social mobility platform.

Pakistan&rsquo;s unemployment debate often centers on job shortages. Bano Qabil addresses a different side of the equation, employability.

Its model rests on a simple but powerful proposition: equip youth with market-relevant skills, connect them to earning pathways, and allow digital opportunity to become a driver of economic growth.

Its success also highlights the potential of community-driven initiatives and public-private partnerships to respond where traditional systems struggle to move at scale.

The program&#39;s long-term sustainability, however, requires broader national support. The business community and well-off members of society can strengthen this initiative by establishing computer labs, donating computers and creating opportunities for graduates. Investing in skilled youth today will contribute to a stronger digital economy tomorrow.

As Alkhidmat expands its network and continues evolving its curriculum for a global digital economy, Bano Qabil is doing more than teaching coding, design or freelancing.

It is building human capital.

And in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where development conversations often focus on roads, industry and infrastructure; the program is making a powerful argument that skills themselves are infrastructure.

That may be its biggest contribution. Not simply producing IT graduates, but helping build a more strong, productive and prosperous Pakistan.

Healthcare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has long faced two major challenges: affordability and accessibility. For patients suffering from chronic blood disorders, emergency conditions, or diseases requiring long-term diagnostic monitoring, these challenges become even more severe. Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is far beyond the typical welfare model, has established a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem that includes specialized thalassemia centers, ISO-accredited diagnostic laboratories, modern hospitals, blood banks, and mobile health units. This is the story of how volunteer-driven humanitarianism earned international certification and how it continues to save lives almost in every part of the province.

On April 23, 2026, Alkhidmat Foundation achieved a landmark milestone that set its facilities apart from many private and public healthcare providers in the region. The Alkhidmat Blood Bank and Diagnostic Center in Nishtarabad, Peshawar, received official accreditation from the Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) under the ISO/IEC 15189:2022 standard; the most rigorous international benchmark for medical laboratory quality and competence.

This certification is not merely a wall plaque. It attests that the center&rsquo;s diagnostic testing and blood banking services comply with global standards for accuracy, patient safety, and quality management. The accreditation places the Alkhidmat facility among Pakistan&rsquo;s most trusted diagnostic hubs. For the thousands of patients, particularly thalassemia sufferers requiring regular blood transfusions, this certification means reliable cross-matching, contamination-free blood products, and laboratory results that clinicians can trust without hesitation.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is home to an estimated 20,000 to 25,000 thalassemia patients, with approximately 5,000 new cases emerging every year. The hereditary blood disorder, passed from parents to children, requires lifelong blood transfusions and iron chelation therapy, medical costs that overwhelm most families. Alkhidmat&rsquo;s Thalassemia Center in Nishtarabad Peshawar, Kohat, Charsadda and Abbottabad provide free treatment, regular blood transfusions, essential medications and laboratory tests.

Currently, the foundation supports over 1,300 registered thalassemia patients through free blood transfusions and comprehensive medical support across Peshawar, Charsadda, Kohat, and Abbottabad. The center goes beyond treatment, hosting annual awareness seminars and walks on World Thalassemia Day to educate communities about prevention, premarital testing laws, and the dangers of consanguineous marriages, the primary drivers of the disease in the region.

Alkhidmat hospitals and other health facilities across KP feature a fully operational 24-hour emergency block, equipped with initial diagnostic capabilities and round-the-clock medical care for residents. To facilitate the patients, Alkhidmat Hospital Dabgari Garden recently inaugurated a modern C-Arm imaging machine, a CSSD sterilization unit, laparoscopy equipment, a microbiology laboratory, and a fully automated blood bank with a biochemistry analyzer capable of conducting sophisticated diagnostic tests with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

This expansion has tangible results. The hospital reported a 100 percent increase in patient inflow over the past year, while diagnostic service utilization surged by 117 percent. In the last 12 months alone, more than 1,100 patients received completely free medical and diagnostic services under the Patient Welfare Fund. The facility also launched clinical hematology services under the supervision of Dr. Salman Arif, the first private-sector clinic in KP dedicated to modern diagnosis and treatment of blood diseases.

Beyond capital city, Alkhidmat&rsquo;s footprint reaches deep into KP&rsquo;s remote districts. In Kohat, the foundation laid the foundation stone for an emergency block at the Alkhidmat Naseem Khan Memorial Hospital, part of a broader push to expand emergency care access in the southern districts. In Dir Lower, President Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman inaugurated a modern medical block at Alkhidmat Hospital Timegara, outfitted with advanced equipment to serve the local community.

For villages perched on mountain slopes and communities cut off by seasonal floods, snowfall and landsliding conventional hospitals remain out of reach. Alkhidmat&rsquo;s mobile health units (MHUs) bridge this gap. During the devastating floods of 2025, the foundation deployed MHUs across Buner, Swat, Malakand, Swabi, Dir Lower, and Shangla, providing free consultations, essential medicines, and emergency care to communities otherwise entirely isolated from medical services.

Each MHU functions as a mini hospital on wheels, staffed by doctors and paramedics, capable of addressing diarrheal diseases, skin infections, respiratory illnesses, and maternal-child health needs. Beyond emergencies, these units serve as permanent outreach platforms, conducting health awareness sessions on hygiene and nutrition in marginalized communities across the province.

Recognizing that diagnosis often costs more than treatment, Alkhidmat has prioritized expanding laboratory accessibility. In 2022, the foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with Khyber Medical University (KMU), under which KMU experts provide ongoing training and capacity-building support to the technical staff of the Alkhidmat Diagnostic Lab in Nishtarabad.

The foundation has also formalized community partnerships to extend care to marginalized groups. A memorandum with the Peshawar Press Club guarantees free general OPD services for journalists and their families, 50 percent discounts on all diagnostic tests, full waiver of admission fees, 30 percent discounts on major surgeries, and free treatment for thalassemia among members&rsquo; children. Additionally, the foundation coordinates with government health initiatives, including the KP government&rsquo;s Sehat Insaf Card program, which also covers thalassemia treatment for eligible residents.

When a charitable organization pursues ISO 15189 accreditation, it signals a fundamental shift in philosophy: the recognition that good intentions alone do not save lives; competence, precision, and accountability do. Alkhidmat Foundation KP has transformed welfare medicine into a professional, standards-driven pursuit, operating not as a stopgap but as an essential pillar of the province&rsquo;s healthcare infrastructure.

From the ISO-certified blood bank in Peshawar to the newly equipped hospital block in Dir Lower, and from the thalassemia patients receiving free transfusions in Kohat to the flood-stricken villagers in Swat accessing a mobile health unit, the network keeps expanding. For thousands of families across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Alkhidmat is not an alternative to the public health system but in fact it is the system that shows up, reliably, day after day, with care that meets the world&rsquo;s highest standards.

Alkhidmat Foundation Transforming Medical Services

Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa&#39;s Education Department organized a five-day leadership camp at Batakundi, Naran for children from its Child Protection Centers, combining leadership training with educational, recreational and outdoor activities.

The camp featured hiking, leadership exercises, team-building activities, painting and cooking competitions, a bonfire, the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign, and a visit to Lulusar Lake. Children also received Basic Life Support (BLS) training from Alkhidmat&#39;s Disaster Management Department to equip them with essential emergency response skills.

Trainers from diverse professional backgrounds conducted interactive sessions on leadership, personality development and character building, while practical activities helped strengthen participants&#39; confidence, teamwork, discipline and problem-solving skills.

The camp concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for all participants. Outstanding children received shields in recognition of their performance, while trainers and guests were also honored with commemorative shields for their contributions. Speakers said the camp aimed to equip children with the confidence, leadership skills and values needed to become responsible future leaders.
