In Islam, charity is often referred to as Sadqa and continuous charity is sadqa jariyah and, sadaqa jariyah is long lasting.
However continuous charity refers to acts of charity that keep benefiting others over time, even after the donor’s death.
In this guide you will learn the rewards of sadaqah and, the ways how your sadaqah turns into sadaqah jariyah in reference to Islamic teachings.
How Holy Prophet emphasized the importance of Ongoing Charity
The Prophet ﷺ said: "When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who prays for him." (Sunan an-Nasa’i 3651).
The Reward of Daily Sadaqah
The beauty of giving charity in Islam is that a Muslim is advised to give consistently.
The Prophet ﷺ said “take up good deeds only as much as you are able, for the best deeds are those done regularly even if they are few.' (Ibn Majah 4240).
Ways to donate Sadaqah Jariyah
Funding a water well or clean water project, that continuously supplies water, or provide access to clean drinking water can have a lasting impact. Alkhidmat Foundation's WASH Program (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) is committed to addressing this issue by providing sustainable water solutions for communities in need.

Be Hasten to Develop Connection with Allah
The people of the past mostly had the intention to compete with one another in doing well, in respect to connecting with Allah SWT for the next life.
To Ibn Rajab stated that when the companions heard Allah SWT words, "So hasten toward all that is good" (Qur'an 2:148) “And march forth quickly in the way to forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as the heavens and earth" (Qur'an 3:133).
They understood from it that it meant that each one of them should strive to be first (in doing good) before others, for a noble place and lofty rank. Don’t wait for someone to invite you to jannah. Do it daily to reap endless reward.
