Heavy rains on August 14–15 triggered flash floods and landslides in Muzaffarabad, Bagh, and Neelum, leaving deaths, missing persons, and severe damage to roads and vehicles. In Gilgit-Baltistan, swollen rivers swept away homes, farmland, and parts of the Karakoram Highway, cutting off remote areas. Since June 26, 2025, floods have claimed 628 lives, injured 768, and damaged nearly 1,900 houses nationwide. Entire villages lie submerged, families are displaced, and critical infrastructure is in ruins. With climate change intensifying these disasters, millions remain at risk.
